Morning Complete Review: My Honest Results After 1 Year

If you first learned about Morning Complete from that Maggie Q Instagram ad, well, same girl, same. That ad got me. And now, a whole year later, I can tell you the honest truth about Morning Complete—the good, the not-so-good, and everything in between.

What is Morning Complete by ActivatedYou?

activatedyou-morning-complete-full-collection

Morning Complete is a daily wellness drink made with prebiotics, probiotics, and nutrient blends to support digestion, energy, and overall health. It combines gut-supporting ingredients with leafy greens and five additional blends aimed at metabolism, mood, antioxidants, liver support, and healthy blood sugar, all in one scoop. The benefits of supplements like Morning Complete are generally dependent on consistent daily use.

Why I wanted to try it

The main reason I wanted to try Morning Complete was that I wanted a low-calorie, nutrient-rich “snack” that would help stave off midday hunger and sugar cravings. I knew the fiber blend and greens would help with that. I also bloat easily, and one of the main selling points of Morning Complete was its ability to help reduce bloating with prebiotics and probiotics, so I was intrigued.

Also, I don’t always get enough greens in my diet, so I loved the idea that even on rushed days—when dinner ends up being a frozen pizza—I’d still get a solid dose of leafy greens, including spinach, broccoli, kale, mulberry leaf extract, and alfalfa leaf. Plus, the added benefits of the prebiotics, probiotics, and antioxidant blend.

Morning Complete: the honest TL;DR

The Good:

  • It has truly helped satiate my appetite and keeps me feeling full longer
  • It helps balance my digestive system and makes me poop more!
  • It helps reduce my bloating (thanks to the pre/probiotics and the fact that I’m going more regularly and craving salty snacks less)
  • It keeps my energy more balanced throughout the day–I don’t have the midday crashes

The Bad:

  • It doesn’t taste very good. I’ve tried all of the flavors, and the best, by far, is their new matcha tea. My least favorite is the citrus medley flavor.
  • It’s relatively expensive ($49/jar for a 30-day supply). You could buy much cheaper Metamucil and just eat more veggies for a partial DIY alternative.
  • The official ActivatedYou website honestly annoys me with their gimmicky “sales” that aren’t really sales and the nonstop promo emails. It sometimes makes me wonder if they’re legit or just pushing urgency.

So, what actually happened after I used Morning Complete daily for over a year?

The biggest consistent changes I’ve noticed are that I have fewer cravings throughout the day, fewer midday tired slumps, and less bloating.

I typically take Morning Complete mixed with an 8oz. glass of water (and sometimes 5g of Creatine powder if I’m working out a lot) in the late morning. I like having it after my coffee but before my breakfast. Since the Morning Complete helps me feel full, I don’t need as big a breakfast. And if I have a highly-processed or high-in-sugar breakfast (i.e. cereal, pancakes with syrup…don’t judge, sometimes I crave sweet breakfast items) the Morning Complete helps prevent my blood sugar levels from crashing midday.

This might be TMI, but the first time I took Morning Complete, I had a BM a couple hours later–which was wild because I’m a once-a-morning, like-clockwork kind of girl. So yes… a midday surprise did occur. I think the fiber, greens, aloe vera leaf and the probiotics hit my stomach like a wave. Which actually made me happy, because it told me that Morning Complete was DOING something in my system. After months of use, I think my body has readjusted and I don’t tend to have two BMs a day–however I stay very regular.

Besides that first day, Morning Complete has never upset my stomach or caused cramping or diarrhea or anything. It has seemed to really help my digestive health overall.

Morning Complete doesn’t give you a dramatic “I feel different today!” effect

…unless you’re like me and immediately have to poop a couple of hours later, lol…

After that initial adjustment, though, it settled into something much more subtle. Its benefits show up slowly and steadily when it’s part of your routine–and they fade slowly too, not overnight.

That’s normal for prebiotics, probiotics, and fiber-based supplements. The best analogy? It’s like drinking water, eating veggies, taking magnesium, or working out.

If I skip taking Morning Complete for days, weeks or even months

I hardly noticed a change in my appetite or energy levels on the days I missed taking it. Technically I’ve been taking Morning Complete for over a year–but there were days I didn’t feel like drinking it. And even months where I stopped buying it to cut back on spending.

However, once I started it again after months of off, I had that same initial “oh man, I gotta poop” again on the first day of use. But again, that faded into more subtle but positive changes.

Morning Complete packs more of a "punch" when I'm consistently working out

When I’m doing pilates and volleyball up to 5x/week, my appetite ramps up because I’m burning more energy. That’s when Morning Complete packs more of a punch. The fiber, greens, and pre/probiotics give me something slow-burning and satiating so I’m not constantly reaching for snacks between meals.

Why I chose Morning Complete over a gut health supplement or vitamin

Powders and drink mixes often absorb a bit better than pill supplements because they’re already dissolved and reach your gut more easily. For gut health ingredients like fiber, prebiotics, and probiotics, the drink format can actually make a difference.

Why I chose Morning Complete over other greens powders

I chose Morning Complete over other green powders like AG1 or cheaper options like Metamucil because it combines greens with prebiotics and probiotics. As a girly entering her mid-30s era, I keep hearing how important gut health is — and pre/probiotics play a huge role in that.

Gut health just starts acting different in your 30s. In simple terms:

  • Your digestion gets more sensitive
  • Stress hits your gut harder
  • Your gut bacteria need more support to stay balanced

And I’d already noticed my own digestion getting more sensitive and bloating becoming more of a thing, so a greens powder that actually supported gut health appealed to me.

Is Morning Complete all-natural and/or organic?

Morning Complete uses mostly plant-based ingredients like real greens, herbal blends, fiber, and probiotics, so much of the formula feels natural. But it’s still a processed supplement powder, not a green juice made with fresh veggies. It’s naturally derived, not a whole-food substitute.

Is it organic?

Morning Complete uses some organic-derived components (like organic tapioca fiber), and most of the greens are real plants–but it is not legitimately certified organic, as far as I can tell. I consider it a natural-derived supplement, not a fully organic greens powder.

How does Morning Complete taste?

morning-complete-scoop-in-water

Truthfully? Not great. Some flavors are better than others, but I wouldn’t call any of them “good.” I’ve tried mixing it with juice and even blending it into smoothies, but the flavor is strong and hard to mask––it usually just makes everything taste worse. It’s hard to describe why it’s not good–it’s not super chalky or anything, it’s just…not something I’d ever drink if there weren’t health benefits to it.

Here are my rankings for flavors, from my favorite to least favorite:

1. Matcha tea (my favorite by far)

2. Mixed berry

3. Apple cinnamon

4. Citrus medley

(Haven’t tried the special edition cranberry orange flavor)

Does it dissolve into water well?

The texture of Morning Complete is very fine, so even though it looks wildly clumpy at first when you dump a scoop into water, it actually mixes out really easily. A quick stir with a spoon will do it–or if you’re extra like me, a shaker bottle makes it completely smooth. You don’t need hot water or any special tricks.

It usually takes me 10–20 minutes to drink it, which is long enough for a little bit of the powder to settle at the bottom. That’s why I like using a shaker bottle– I can just give it a quick shake between sips. But honestly, keeping a spoon nearby for a quick stir works too. For the most part, it stays mixed pretty well.

Travel-size Morning Complete packets for my fellow nomads

morning-complete-travel-size-packets

One thing I do appreciate about Morning Complete — and something I don’t see often with other greens powders — is that they offer travel-size packets. I travel pretty regularly, and I like having a routine that doesn’t completely fall apart just because I’m not at home, so the single-serve packets are genuinely convenient.

I don’t always want to haul around a big container of greens powder, and I’m definitely not about to scoop powder out of a Ziploc bag in an airport bathroom. The packets make it super easy to stay consistent without overthinking it. Just toss a few in your bag and you’re set.

If you’re someone who travels for work, takes weekend trips often, or just likes having your wellness routine be “grab-and-go,” this is actually a really nice perk that a lot of greens powders don’t offer. Of course, it jacks up the price a bit as you pay for convenience. A 12-pack box is $27.70, which equates to about $2.30/serving. But since I only use the travel packets occasionally, a 12-pack box can last me a while.

My recommendation to a first-time customer

If you’re trying Morning Complete for the first time, just buy one jar. I say this with love: the taste is a common complaint, and you do not want to be stuck with a 3-jar bundle if you end up hating it. And please, for the love of your bank account, don’t sign up for their in-your-face subscription right away. You can always upgrade later.

Also, don’t fall for the checkout add-ons.
After you place your order, they will send you through what feels like five different landing pages trying to upsell you on “discounted” bundles. I actually fell for this once. I added a second bundle thinking I was getting some kind of better deal… only to realize they charged me less for the jars but somehow more in taxes (???), which made the whole “discount” end up costing more than my original bundle.

So yeah. Start with one jar, skip the subscription, skip the add-ons. Figure out if you even like the taste first.

ActivatedYou’s return policy (what you should know)

One thing I actually appreciate about ActivatedYou is their 90-day money-back guarantee. If you try Morning Complete and don’t like it, whether it’s the taste, the texture, or you just don’t feel any difference, you can return it within 90 days for a refund of the purchase price (minus shipping). And yes, you can even send back empty jars, which makes it a legit “try it risk-free” situation.

To start a return, you just need to contact their customer support to get a Return Authorization Number — either through email or by calling their support line. Then you mail the jars back and they process the refund once the return is received. No doctor’s notes, no hoops to jump through, no weird requirements about medical conditions or anything like that.

It’s not a perfect system (you do have to pay for return shipping), but overall, the policy is straightforward and gives you a decent safety net if you’re on the fence about buying your first jar.

Where to Buy Morning Complete

You can buy Morning Complete directly from the ActivatedYou website, which always has the full flavor lineup (including the newer ones like Matcha Tea and Cranberry Orange). The downside is dealing with their intense checkout upsells–so just be ready to click “no thanks” about five times.

It’s also available on Amazon, which is convenient if you prefer fast shipping or already shop there regularly. Just note: Amazon’s selection is way more limited. As of now, they don’t carry newer flavors like Matcha or Cranberry Orange, and sometimes the pricing fluctuates.

If you want the widest flavor options, stick with the ActivatedYou website. If you just want the basics and easy shipping, Amazon works too.

Quick note: my experience with ActivatedYou’s Essential Skin Food

activatedyou-essential-skin-food-jar

Since we’re already talking about ActivatedYou, I’ll add a quick side note about another product I tried: Essential Skin Food. I tested it for almost a full year because I was curious if it would give me any noticeable “glowier skin” results… but honestly, I didn’t see enough of a difference to justify the price. It’s about $45 for a 30-day supply, and for me, the cost didn’t match the results.

It wasn’t bad — it just wasn’t impactful enough for me to keep buying it. So if you were eyeing that product too, consider this your little reality check from someone who actually used it long-term.

Final thoughts on Morning Complete by ActivatedYou

After using Morning Complete on and off for over a year, here’s my honest take: it’s not perfect–it’s pricey, it tastes meh, and the marketing can be annoying–but it does deliver on the things that matter to me: less bloating, more balanced energy, fewer cravings, and a generally happier gut.

It’s not a magic powder. It’s more like a steady, reliable baseline boost you notice most when you don’t have it in your routine. If gut health, regularity, and appetite balance are on your radar (especially if you’re in your “mid-30s digestion suddenly has opinions” era), Morning Complete is worth trying at least once–just start with one jar and see how your body responds.
